 The president of Poland has said that the Baltic Pipe has been a national goal for many years: On Tuesday, during the symbolic launching of a huge Norway-Denmark-Poland gas pipeline, the president of Poland claimed that the pipeline, known as the Baltic Pipe, will increase Poland’s independence from Russia’s fossil fuel exports.

At an inauguration ceremony for a methane compressor station at Goleniow, in northwest Poland, President Andrzej Duda delivered the remarks. Also in attendance were the prime ministers of Poland and Denmark, Mateusz Morawiecki & Mette Frederiksen.

Andrzej Duda highlighted the fact that Poland will no longer have to rely only on gas imported from Russia because of the pipeline.
